Touratech Suspension-SET Plug & Travel EVO for BMW R1200GS / R1250GS from 2013 onward

Thanks to numerous technical innovations, the semi-active suspension system Touratech Suspension Plug & Travel EVO raises the riding characteristics of the BMW R 1200 / 1250 GS to an unprecedented level. These electronic shock absorbers get the most out of the GS in terms of ride comfort, reserves in extreme situations and safety in critical situations.

The configuration of this high-end semi-active suspension system has been constantly adapted to the needs of demanding adventure riders, who do not tolerate compromises in the performance of their suspension system, even when riding fully loaded on difficult surfaces.

These electronic suspension elements can be used to replace the standard Dynamic ESA shock absorbers on the BMW R 1200/1250 GS without modifying the vehicle. Installation is now even easier thanks to the new slimmer design. All standard plug connections are retained and operated as usual via the standard switches. All presets provided by the vehicle manufacturer for the various driving modes and payload settings are available as usual.

The semi-active suspension system Touratech Suspension Plug & Travel EVO is also available as a height reduction variant that noticeably reduces the seat height of the BMW R 1200 / 1250 GS. This ensures that smaller GS riders also have secure ground contact in all situations. Apart from the slightly reduced spring travel, all technical features are identical to those of the standard version.

The new EVO line dispenses with an intermediate control unit and processes the data from the central function unit (CFU) directly. There is no need for the time-consuming teaching of electronics. In addition, the integrated control system can immediately take into account all software updates installed via the BMW service, so no additional update of suspension elements is required.

The solenoid valve, the heart of each semi-active suspension element, was developed in cooperation with the Dutch specialists at JRZ Suspension Engineering. Eibach, the world-renowned manufacturer of high-performance suspension systems, provides the springs of a particularly high quality, with characteristics adapted to driving with luggage.

The design of the new Hyper Flow shock absorber piston suppresses oil foaming even at very high shock absorber speeds and ensures consistent performance even under the most extreme loads.

The low-friction seal combines best durability with low breakaway torque, ensuring responsive response in all riding situations.

The new, particularly robust electric preload adjuster for electronic spring preload adjustment offers impressive torque and ensures quick and reliable adjustment of the vehicle balance when the load changes.

For easy compression damping presetting, the new EVO line provides an easy-to-operate rotary knob with an easy-to-read scale. This also enables less experienced users to reliably implement individual and reproducible suspension system settings.

The progressive end stop gently slows down extreme spring compression for maximum comfort.

Best durability thanks to minimal tolerances distinguishes the high-quality Uniball bearings. Their rubber seals are particularly resistant to pressure and effectively prevent the ingress of dirt and water.

IMPORTANT Note:

With this suspension solution, the rear and front of the motorcycle must be adapted together. The side stand and/or main stand must be adapted to ensure that your BMW R1200GS / R1250GS stands firm.

The basic configuration installed here is designed for passengers with up to 100 kg of additional luggage. Modifications are possible for a heavier rider (over 100 kg) and/or if the bike is usually ridden with a passenger/baggage.
