TCX Infinity 3 Goretex Boots

With its wrap-around heat shield to protect the shin, the Infinity 3 has an off-road look, but the truth is that this is a road boot. The target audience for the TCX Infinity 3 is the explorer and adventurous biker who almost never leaves a trail no matter how dark it may seem.

The first thing to note is that the waterproofing is courtesy of Gore-Tex. Now, arguably, Gore-Tex is the better membrane, but the reassuring thing about any product that is equipped with Gore-Tex is that it has been approved by Gore. You simply can't make a poor quality Gore-Tex product. So, one thing you can be sure of with the TCX Infinity 3 is that your feet will stay dry.

The chassis of the boot is a combination of suede and some type of synthetic material such as Lorica. The heat shield, as TCX calls it, is largely aesthetic. Behind the panel is a padded tongue to ensure that comfort is not compromised. The shield flap fastens with Velcro, and is adjustable. But the main adjustment of the boot comes from the BOA-style wire wheel mechanism that sits just above the outer ankle and is very easy to use. It's a boot that should fit most foot shapes and sizes. As far as protection is concerned, it is reinforced in the toe, ankle and heel areas. Inside the boot, there is a removable Ortholite insole. The outsole is made of Groundtrax.
