The electronic technology Helite uses 2 sensors

- A sensor integrated in the jacket (CDU): it follows the rider's movements in real time.

- A sensor to be placed on the fork of the motorcycle (SDU): detects impacts on the motorcycle (optional).

Algorithm analyzes rider's movement in real time. The airbag is activated depending on many combinations of factors: speed, pitch, roll, rotational speed and direction .....

Thanks to that, the airbag can detect various types of crashes, such as sliding, high side, low side, collision in the front, rear and side...

The battery autonomy is about 25 hours. However, the system has automatic shutdown to save energy.

*Therefore, Helite advises never turning off the device to avoid "forgetfulness".

It is only recommended to turn it off when it is going to be stored or transported in the trunk of another vehicle, because in this case, when it detects any braking or turning movement, it can be activated. And when the airbag is not going to be used for months and is going to be left hanging in the closet.

The sensors are also reusable after an accident. You only need to switch it on and it will work again. Replacing the electronic CO2 cartridge is as simple as unscrewing it and replacing it with a new one.

All electronic airbags have GPS to obtain speed information. Generally, when there is no speed, the airbag does not activate (20 km/h for the airbag Helite). However, with the SDU fork sensor, the airbag works even without speed. In this way, we will be protected even in front or rear impact situations while stopped, whether at a traffic light or in a traffic jam.

The fork sensor will send a signal to the airbag sensor, activating at that very moment (total protection). This is the case when we are about to hit a vehicle or obstacle that is stopped in front of us. The motorist may even have very little speed, and even so, it will protect you. In this case, you will only have to replace your CO2 to get it ready again.

The other situation is when our rider is stationary and a vehicle hits him from the rear. Exactly the same thing will happen. The fork sensor sends a signal and the airbag is activated.

The GPS signal is important to limit possible activations that should not occur. The algorithm that carries the airbag, responds to some parameters:

✓ GPS to take into account the speed. If we carry the fork sensor, it will even detect the impact at minimum speed (from 0 km/h to 20km/h)

✓ A 3-axis gyroscope , it will bring you the information about degrees of inclination.

✓ A 3-axis accelerometer to measure meters per second.

This increases the accuracy to prevent the airbag from being triggered, for example, if the user is in pedestrian mode, stumbles while walking, or if for example the user throws the airbag on the couch.
