Helmet Arai RX-7V RC

Without any doubt, the Arai RX-7V RC is the technological culmination of helmets. It is carefully handcrafted by a master craftsman to obtain an exceptional helmet, in which all the knowledge, experience and years of development of Arai have been brought together.

From the VAS (Variable Axis System) technology, which offers a considerably larger and smoother shell area over the SNELL test line, in turn greatly improving the helmet's significant impact deflection capability, to the meticulously applied layers of its prized carbon fiber. All this together leads to the development of a truly superb helmet.

Racing Carbon, the exclusive technology developed in-house by Arai for the GP-6RC F-1 helmet employs carbon fiber as used in the latest generation of commercial aircraft, which is bonded by Arai proprietary resins and reinforced with a band of Super Fiber specifically oriented to disperse energy laterally across the surface of the shell. In the front area, this band increases the shell's strength without adding thickness or weight and allows the use of a thinner EPS liner, which significantly improves the field of vision upwards, especially useful for racing stunts!

The anatomical shape of the outer shell of Arai offers a more natural look, provides greater firmness and better adapts to the natural shape of the head for increased comfort and fit and to minimize air turbulence.

With the VAS system, the mounting position of the visor is lowered, allowing an average of 24 mm more around both temple areas, in search of the ideal smoother shape that will increase the ability to dissipate impact energy. As a result, it has been possible to achieve a smoother shell along and below the Snell standard test line.

The new ventilation system, which combines the new air intakes with the completely redesigned diffusers, guarantees and maintains an optimum temperature, whatever the conditions of use. The redesigned front air inlet ensures an 11% higher inlet air flow than the previous generation and, thanks to the new opening/closing system, is even easier to operate. The new diffusers have been lengthened by 20 mm and can activate 19% more air, working in conjunction with the air wing to stabilize the helmet at high speeds. The removable chin strap helps eliminate turbulence and, thanks to the Venturi effect, maximizes the supply of fresh air to the air intake through the chin guard.

The new IC Duct5 allows 11% more airflow than the previous Delta Duct5. The actuation mechanism is now larger, allowing for easier opening and closing. The Duct5 IC Duct has three positions: closed, semi-open and fully open, to adjust the airflow and prevent water ingress when fully closed.

The Free Flow System (FFS) - Free Flow System generates an airflow under the hull that reduces turbulence and wind noise while increasing the outflow of warm air. Improved air exit pathways from the eye area, passing it through an ad hoc air channel to a size 6 side opening, improving efficiency and reducing noise. Fresh air can enter the helmet without the need to drill holes in an area statistically very subject to impacts. In some specific models ventilation is also extended to the temple area.

The three-position chin vent facilitates the elimination of visor fogging and provides the rider with fresh air.

It has an air outlet opening in the neck to improve the extraction of hot air from the interior. Increases the ventilation effect in the lower part of the helmet.

Side vents generate low pressure behind the rear ventilation opening to improve hot air extraction. Integrated into the shell for improved aerodynamics, they reduce wind noise and prevent high-speed shaking. On the inside, a small foam barrier facilitates absorption and reduction of excess noise without reducing ventilation performance.

For increased aerodynamics there is a deployable chin flap, which helps minimize wind noise and also facilitates the extraction of hot air from the face area. It provides additional ability to deflect road spray away from the neck area.

And also the patented adjustable Air Wing® system. Designed and tested in MotoGP to achieve a huge reduction in drag, turbulence and shock, it ensures more comfort and speed. Improves helmet stability at high speeds or during dry braking and reduces noise. Depending on the model, adjustable in five different attack position angles to cope with all riding positions.

Antimicrobial inner padding helps to maintain neutral acidity levels close to those of human skin and with antibacterial properties. In an effort to make the fit softer, deeper and even more comfortable, we have developed a softer material for the liner shell. The liner also features adjustable temple padding that allows for a customized fit.

The cheek pads/ear muffs are easily removable. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with warm water and a mild detergent. After cleaning, the helmet should be thoroughly rinsed and should never be left to dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts are available in different thicknesses and sizes to accommodate every rider.

The VAS Max Vision visor is the standard to provide better visibility in all seasons and for all types of riding.

Inherited directly from our F1 helmet, the new screen opening-closing system works on three axes and in locked position, closes the screen like never before. By lifting the new system with a simple gesture (also with gloves) it is possible to activate the de-mist function or to open the visor completely.

Integrated communication systems are very popular, but often the problem is limited space for a speaker or simply not available, causing uncomfortable pressure points. Special pockets allow room for speaker mounting without affecting comfort or fit (speaker/intercom not included).

The FCS system, designed to offer an even tighter fit and improve comfort under the chin, works by means of a foam spring support in the cheek pad that compresses and rebounds, providing the necessary support without excess pressure.

The detachable temple and crown pads at Arai offer the option of 5 mm more interior width* if required.

The nose guard works in conjunction with the Dual-Pivot® chin vent to better direct cool air to the inner surface of the shield, while directing warm breathable air downward to be drawn away from the inner surface of the helmet.

The lower part of the helmet is attached to a new fabric to cover the chin area, which also accentuates the oval shape. This fabric has a dual function: it blocks air ingress from below from turbulence and increases the negative pressure to improve the FFS system's air egress function, extracting more air from the mouth area. The improved airflow further reduces noise.

To minimize the impact energy entering the helmet, it is essential that a helmet be able to slide on a surface. Arai believes that a durable, rounded and smooth shell helps increase the helmet's ability to protect the rider during an impact. Shells with sharp edges or air intakes that do not break can reduce the helmet's ability to slide, transmit energy to the helmet or even dangerously increase rotational energy.

Each helmet Arai passes through five independent quality control departments: inspections after the shell is made, after painting and graphic finishing, after assembly and two more in-process inspections.

Our experts can take up to five years to create a shell Arai. Each shell can include up to 27 steps, and it takes about 18 hours to make a Arai helmet.
