KTM brought the racing DNA to the road with the 790/890. The originally built-in engine and tank protection is an accessory that serves more of an aesthetic function than actual protection. One of the reasons the KTM 890/790 handles so well is the low-slung fuel tanks that keep the center of gravity low. However, they do present a vulnerability to impacts from the ground if they are not protected.
The experience of 20 years of producing many 10,000 engine guards was used in the construction and optimal sizing of the materials. The knowledge gained from years of using our engine guards, as well as feedback from our customers on previous generations of engine guards, was taken into account in the new RALLYE Evo engine guard. The result is an intelligent 3-part structure. This simplifies assembly and saves unnecessary additional weight.The resulting 360° total protection ensures that the engine, exhaust system and critical tank areas are protected even in the toughest off-road use. Both falling rocks and contact with the ground can hardly damage your KTM 790/890.
We have designed the "RALLYE Evo" engine protection with a few goals in mind: should be "rock solid", it should look good and not restrict freedom of movement or place unnecessary weight on the vehicle. Hence, we have created the best protection for your KTM 890 or 790 Adventure & R with the new RallyeForm crankcase cover with integrated aluminum tank protectors.
The RallyForm tank protector protects the tanks with 3mm thick aluminum protectors that are pressed into the proper shape using 500,000 pounds of force. The result is a strong shield that protects the fuel tanks from damage while conforming to the exact shape of the bike.
The two separately mounted tank protection plates are hydroformed for a perfect fit. The tank guards are integrated into the underside of the skid plate, which is precision machined from 4 mm thick aluminum alloy. This lower part is designed to give maximum protection during hard hits on rocks, stumps, or bottoming the bike off-road.
The folded ridges give the aluminum material added rigidity, while maximizing ground clearance for off-road riding. The two separately mounted tank protection plates are hydroformed for a perfect fit.
The special structure of the extended base plate, together with the high-strength material, ensures maximum rigidity all the way to the catalytic converter. Even when used in rough terrain, it protects the engine and exhaust system alike. Flat bevels make it easy to overcome obstacles of any kind, be it a tree trunk or a curb. Professional robotic welding on high-quality tools ensures consistent quality.
The 3-part structure is supported by the use of two specially manufactured aluminum alloys. Each specially optimized for its specific application area. Both structures are 4 mm thick.
The large cooling opening is retained to improve engine cooling, but can be protected from flying stones with optionally available grids (372-5016) if required.
Easily attached to suitable positions on the vehicle. A stainless steel reinforcement at the rear provides additional cross support.
Parallel use of the protection bars from Touratech is fully compatible with the Rallye Evo protector.
Four color combinations are available: silver base and silver tank guards, silver base and black tank guards, black base and silver tank guards, and black base and black tank guards. Unlike other skid plates on the market, the RallyeForm skid plate can be combined with the lower and upper crash bars from Touratech for complete protection of your 790 / 890 Adventure and 790 / 890 Adventure R
