The multi-profile recesses in the 4 mm thick aluminum base plate ensure maximum stability. In addition, in the event of an impact, the force is distributed over a large area delimited by 8 bolting points thanks to the additional 4 mm stainless steel bottom plate attached to the engine. These two plates do not limit the lower ground clearance.

The next level of protection comes from the 4 mm heavy-gauge aluminum skid plate, designed with corrugated channels for maximum strength and rigidity. Mounting bolts are recessed into the channels for added protection and ease of service.

The Expedition cover is finished with high-strength, fiber-reinforced polyamide-nylon sliders that absorb shock and provide a sliding surface to negotiate obstacles. The rails also protect the bolt heads from rocks and other terrain hazards.
