Aluminum and plastic panniers: Differences

There are generally two types of materials in which the side cases are manufactured. On the one hand, plastic cases. These are more economical sets of cases. Thanks to the ease of working the plastic, they have in some cases very interesting features such as the possibility of gaining capacity thanks to folding systems, present in brands such as Shad.

On the other hand, there are aluminum panniers for motorcycles. This is a more resistant luggage, to the point that it even serves as another element of defense in case of a fall. Being more robust, its duration is much greater, better resisting the inclemency of the weather. Of course, the price is also higher.

Different capacity

If you are going to use your luggage for long trips, we recommend you to get suitcases with a high capacity. In some, such as those of 45 liters or 48 liters, even a helmet fits completely. On the other hand, you have lighter solutions, such as those of approximately 30 liters.
