The most popular accessories for motorcycle helmets are visors and screens. With them, we combat inclement weather and suffocate the excess of light that sometimes hinder driving. In fact, sometimes it is almost impossible to ride our motorcycle without these elements, which prevent light flashes, excessive wind and reflections.

Helmet visors

The motorcycle helmet visor is the element that is placed on the upper part of the helmet. This visor performs a function similar to that of a cap on a conventional passerby, that is, it prevents the sun from hitting the eyes directly.

Thanks to the visor, you will create a comfortable environment at eye level that will allow you to drive in perfect conditions on particularly sunny days. It becomes vitally important to use them when the sun remains at a medium and low altitude, such as at sunrise or sunset, especially in spring and summer.

In some cases, the visors are adjustable so that they can be raised and lowered as desired to prevent the sun from reaching the eyes directly and thus not hindering the driver's visibility.

Helmet shields

Motorcycle helmet shields are transparent elements that are placed in the vision zone. It is convenient to clarify this point because, sometimes, this term is confused with the previously mentioned visor.

The visor prevents elements from the road or the environment from penetrating the helmet or impacting uncomfortably on the rider's face. We are talking about excessive wind when riding at high speeds, insects, dust or small stones or gravel that sometimes jump from the asphalt and can become dangerous for the rider.

The screen can also serve as a sunlight attenuator, replacing the function of sunglasses. They are usually those smoked helmet screens that, with the appropriate homologation and protection against UV rays, allow the rider to have a clear view of the road without excess sunlight.
